Trick-or-Treat

witch_pen_color
I did this earlier this week as a pen-and-ink with watercolor demo for an illustration techniques class (with apologies to Jack Unruh whose technique was the thrust of this assignment). Great fun, and a lucky match for this week's theme.
Happy Halloween!

Great Illo. Nice use of pen & ink and watercolor. Reminds me of a great illustration for the cover of the "Screwtape Letters."

Incredible. I know that anyone in one of your classes will come away a changed artist. I love the technique in this and the subtle shadings. Is that pumpkin soup?

Hah! It's WAAY better than pumpkin soup...it's BEER. The assignment was to do artwork for a beer label. The fictitious brand is called "Witches Brew".

Inspired. Love the portrait that tapers into the smoke. I love the cross hatching and colorwork in the face. Terrific work.
