Song

frogs
I offer the Amphibious Suite in C (croak) minor, by the Franklin Pond Chamber Music Quartet, performing nightly (in the warmer months), to the delight of many in north Atlanta, USA.
(The frogs and environment were done from scratch in Photoshop. The instruments are digital photos. To see a larger version of this art, go here.)

Your work is amazing! I love your frogs. Your skills in both art and digital effects are a few light-years ahead of mine, but I had a frog-theme, too!

Rick, I'd come listen to them anytime! I am always so impressed by the way you treat surface textures...I see the slickness of their skin, the shine on the wood of the violins. You're really a master! BTW, I envy the blooms you have in GA! After our brief "warm' spell, we got a snow squall this morning as a precursor to a very cold front coming in. Ah... I dream of warmer climes!

Super, I love the frog with the sleepy eyes and the way they dabble their toes in the water.

What a nice change from just going around croaking all the time. I love it!

Thanks, everyone for the comments! I have to 'fess up to Carla, though...the instruments are digital photos! Yeah, I cheated, I know. But this was done for a very high-level string quartet program and I was afraid to take liberties with their special instruments. (Both my kids were in the program and I used their instruments and those of friends for the piece.) At any rate, it was great fun to do. And by the way, the program really does take place at a beautiful home on a pond, and the frogs really do come out and serenade everyone at night!

Yeah...they really nailed me on my horribly outdated website. Guess I need to get rid of those eye-hurting buttons!

Well, your art speaks for itself, and your website isn't that bad for goodness sake. :)

Very entertaining piece on many levels - I love the frogs' wry expressions and their toes lightly touching the water. You're a master...and a gentleman :o) Lovely work!

Very cool. I especially like the cellist's expression. Hadn't noted the colors of the eyes til I read one of the above comments. Another great illustration.

Wonderful! I'm so impressed with how seemlessly you merged the photos of the instruments in with the frogs, I would have never known.

Your work is simply amazing. I'm always stunned to see such wonderful work done strictly with a computer. I really need to give it a try.
