I love your Painter 9 "sketchy version". Looks like fun and fast drawing. I wonder why you chose no color behinid? Looks great either way tho!

I like the feeling of 'speed' that you've given the biker.

Agree the ultimate within this image is the speeding movement.

Great again Rick - I love both pictures as well. I really like the style on this and the movement it captures. And Lance...what can you say...he could double as a hero in my book. I saw his most recent Nike commercial that simply plays clips from his 1996 press conference announcing his cancer...then says "just do it"...powerful. I love your work, and always look forward to what's next!

Thanks to all for the kind comments.
Becky, yes, Lance is a real-life hero. I didn't realize until recently how close he came to dying with his cancer; he was in phase four and STILL came back to be the best there has ever been in his extremely demandin sport. Inspiring, indeed.

Oh, yeah...Nice drawing. It has all the elements that say, "Lance is fast!". Well done!

I'm sorry to have missed the previous versions. It would have been nice to compare.

Well, YOU are a talent to be reckoned with, too. I like all the white space... and aforementioned sense of speed (nice leaning into the curve you've got going!). Thanks also for lemur lessons.

Awesome. Great compisiton and great details. It reminds me of action illustrations from when I was a kid (back before computer graphics).

Your interpretation of Lance is awesome, the line-work works extremely well. This is my first time visiting your blog, great inspiring stuff, and thanks for that step by step!
